"Halal" means "Kosher" except in Arabic, LOL. (Not exactly the same thing, but awfully similar)
Can I just say how amazing their food is! I also had a spinach pie it was like sweet drops of heaven with each bite. The rice pilaf was delicious I could have that every day. The salads and the hummus was delicious as well. Definitely will be ordering again!
Great falafel and delicious humus!
Really excellent!!! And the personnel is adorable. I strongly recommand
My favorite lunch spot on the UWS. Extremely cheap, filling, healthy, and tasty menu with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Strongly recommend!
If you are at least a little bit environmentally conscious you don't step into this place. The food was OK, but they pack EVERYTHING into plastic, the sauces SEPARATELY. Until this policy isn't changed I'll leave my rating one star and I encourage everyone to do so as well. Good that I had my own cutlery and box.
Good food. Falafel is always fresh. Food is quick and ready to go in a few minutes. I love their hummus. Great lunch place, 5-6 tables for seating. Inexpensive especially for the area, 6-8 bucks for a sandwich.
Great food at great prices
Very nice guys and delicious wraps. Tastes as its middle eastern versions.
Awesome food great prices
A very lovely, wonderful and clean place! The owner is very kind. He arranged the tables for us and gave us some falafels to test. The food was very delicious and tasty.
This place helped make our trip to New York memorable. It felt like we found the city's best kept secret. The owner was indescribably generous and kind. He brought us water, samplers and even a small dessert. It was as unbelievable as the quality of the food and the size of the portions. An easy 5 stars and somewhere we'll visit again when we return to New York.
Nothing fancy, but a great lunch! They even gave me a hot falafel to eat while I was waiting.
Great food, good portions, friendly staff
My favorite place to eat falafel. I've been coming here for over 20 years, and I never had a bad experience. Thank you.
Nice restaurant. So far the best flafel in NYC
AmazIng food !
Good falafel sandwiches. good price
Visiting with my Moroccan family. Place very clean with top customer service since we visited New York!!! By the way, we think the food was excellent. Our new place to eat when we visit Central Park. Natasha🤗🤗
Good price for food, friendly cashier/server, laid back atmosphere but quick service.
Omg you will lose your mind over the food at this hole in the wall joint.
One of the best deals and best falafel pita sandwiches around! Order it with hot sauce for sure.
Found this amazing vegan friendly place accidentally as we were getting hungry and walking by. Ordered falafel sandwiches and fries 🍟. So tasty that we ordered two more sandwiches to go! And fries were one of the best I have ever tried in any of the counties I’ve been! Staff is very friendly and so swift at what they do! 5 stars ⭐️ are not enough to rate them! I wish we stayed longer in NYC to come back to this place again.
I love this place. Service and food are consistantly fantastic.
Always fresh! Very good
Great food and large portions!
Great falafel!
Just great food and friendly people
Kind professional service by dark skin gentleman. Tasty falafel combination ..not greasy ..not dry just right.
Had falafel during recent visit. Cosy place. Moderately priced. Taste was excellent. As good as we had it in Dubai.
The meat was hot, but a little chewy. The flavors were good. The man behind the counter was very attentive.
Perfect little restaurant with the best falafels in town!
Owner was very nice and listened to us carefully. He was receptive and their menu was extensive but simple and easy to understand. Prices were fair and serving portions were adequate (the size of a regular sandwhich). The owner also trusted us with payment, insisting that we enjoy first and pay later.
The lentil soup was amazing! It was only $5 for a large bowl. The employees are so sweet and accommodating. What a gem of a place. I will be back
Great little Mediterranean food spot. Very reasonable prices. Always fresh which is rare these days. Wish I’d found this spot much sooner.
Place is amazing and the lamb shawarma ($8.50) one of the best in the city. Prices are very generous and stuff are extremely friendly.
Well, today i ate thier yestarday's Shawarma. Excessive burping and upset stomach all day, I was so hungry I didnt care for the chewy Shawarma, what esle could have I done, it was $21 The hummus was good.
This is the best middle eastern food in NY,period.By a mile, hands down. Father Sido, who founded this wonderful cuisine left the perfect recipes of many tenderly delicious and spectacularly healthy dishes. Falafel, homus, baba ghannouj and tabouli lead the pack of starters followed by the grilled kababs and the couscous with chicken or meat. I have had them all,,,simply the best. When I feel super, I indulge on a gyro over rice pilaf and the irresistible baklava and turkish coffee. Rabya at Columbus and 73rd St has the most friendly feeding hands and he will listen to what you actually need. I would reccomend Sido with my eyes closed because I know it just is the best.
Brilliant vegan/vegetarian food, perfect portion sizes, extremely fast service and the guys who worked there were so friendly and inviting. Would highly recommend as a quick casual eat. Prices are good too.
I just popped randomly in to grab a nice sandwich while walking back to midtown from the Upper West Side... and was not disappointed. I had the lamb kebab sandwich which was cooked to order (they even gave me a falafel to eat while waiting) and served up on nice soft pita bread with crisp salad, tangy houmous and a good hot sauce. The place itself isn't much to write home about, but that isn't important at all – grab something and go sit in Central Park to enjoy it.
Cheap and full of flavor! (I just wish they didn’t use plastic utensils for sit down)
10/10 an amazing place that doesnt dissapoint. The staff is friendly and very helpful with the menu. I had the Lamb Kebab and falafel 6pc and it was amazing
The food is delicious and fresh, more affordable than many eateries around the neighborhood. Four stars because the atmosphere and decor could be better. Definitely worth a visit if you like Mediterranean food.
We ordered a mixed meat plate, then when we received it, the man told us he put an extra 2 falafels there. We thought it was generosity, turns out it was an extra 6$ for the two small falafels! And the food comes in small portions, too. Maybe we were stupid for saying that we didn't order it, but they shouldn't trick tourists this way. This place is a fraud!
Guy behind counter was unfriendly and cursed a lot in Spanish. Meat for Shwarma Gyro was not cut fresh of spit, instead came out of fridge. Meat was chewy and tasted old. Threw out half of sandwich.
I ordered the chicken gyro sandwich -with spicy sauce on the side and it was really good. I was super hungry and not sure it would be sufficient but it was! The ingredients are fresh and the chicken is cooked to perfection! the outdoor seating makes the meal so pleasant! Would strongly recommend 😊
Superb Falafel sandwich, friendly guy at the counter, inexpensive given the location
My boyfriend and I live right around the corner from Sido and I don't think we can ever move. We love it here, the staff is always so friendly and quick with the orders, and the food is AMAZING. We usually always get the Shawarma, but definitely always get the falafel. They are so good. The hot sauce they give is also delicious, we keep the leftovers in the fridge for other meals. The price is also so worth the amount of food you get, we're always satisfied. Sido is just the best..... I could go on forever... one of our favorites in NYC!
Bomb gyro. Nice guy too. Will be back.
Quick bite
We just went there to eat the food was really ok - the problem was that we were 5 people so he offered that he will take care of us and will send us plates to the table and all will be fine - we told then that we don't want to pay more than $50 - he said no problem! When we asked for the bill he charged us $65 cause he said that he gave us more things.... after asking why?! He changed it to $60! I didn’t want to stay there any more so I just paid and left. so the food is good but you might get scammed - take it under consideration.
